ORCA Computing has announced a partnership with Toyota Tsusho Corporation to improve access to hybrid quantum-classical high-performance computing (HPC) solutions in Japan and the Asia Pacific region.
This collaboration aims to leverage ORCA’s PT Series product line, which integrates quantum computing with classical computing capabilities. Toyota Tsusho has been involved in quantum technology since 2017 and seeks to combine its customer insights with ORCA’s quantum solutions.
Takashi Matsuda, manager of Toyota Tsusho's Enterprise IT Department, stated, “This partnership is essential for providing our customers with access to industry-leading quantum computing systems enabling them to harness the power of quantum computing in areas such as automotive, chemicals and industry 4.0.” He also noted that the collaboration could help organizations transform their operations.
The partnership highlights the growing intersection of generative AI and quantum computing, as ORCA’s approach opens new possibilities in various sectors, including manufacturing and automotive. These systems can address rising operational costs and power consumption challenges.
ORCA’s PT Series photonic quantum systems are designed to run machine learning and optimization algorithms, marking the company’s successful deployment of multiple on-premises quantum systems globally. ORCA has provided quantum computing capabilities to a range of customers, including academic institutions and government agencies in healthcare, energy, defense, and computing sectors.
Richard Murray, CEO of ORCA Computing, remarked, “Toyota Tsusho is a forward-thinking company that understands the benefits of quantum computing that is accessible and usable for customers, not just in the future, but now.”
This collaboration is part of ORCA’s initiatives to deliver PT Series systems to various clients, including the UK Ministry of Defence and the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center, reinforcing the demand for quantum technology in diverse markets.
