A Latin American enterprise resource planning (ERP) company hired Nuage Networks, a business unit of Nokia, to do software-defined networking (SDN).
Brazil-based TOTVS launched its TOTVS Intera service about one year ago to provide cloud services to businesses via a subscription model. TOTVS Intera provides access to TOTVS’ entire portfolio through a public or a private cloud via a monthly subscription.
The Nuage Networks Virtualized Services Platform (VSP) overlay makes use of both public and private cloud infrastructure. VSP is hypervisor-independent and operates with all existing network equipment. It gives TOTVS the flexibility to manage customer workloads across private and public clouds, and customers have access to applications available from any location.
With VSP, applications are moved from a hardware appliance to a pure software environment coordinated by OpenStack and Nuage Networks.
Also, VSP allows workloads to be programmed to comply with applicable regulations, such as when information may not be stored beyond a nation’s boundaries. And VSP gives TOTVS the ability to detect, debug, and resolve problems through a real-time inventory of virtual services, physical connectivity, and the correlation between them.
