Nokia has upgraded ESpanix’s Internet Exchange Points to provide Spain’s first 400G connectivity for IXP customers. This 400G upgrade employs Nokia’s Interconnect routers, presenting a more efficient alternative to multiple bonded 100GE connections. The solution lowers operational costs and power consumption for ESpanix and its customers, while reducing complexity in the network.

ESpanix will utilize Nokia’s Photonic Service Switch to enhance bandwidth across its optical transport network, allowing for improved operational efficiency tailored to customer needs. This layered network approach provides scalability for larger clients and supports ESpanix’s plans to expand its infrastructure and service offerings.

With all ESpanix Points of Presence now upgraded to 400G, this project meets the rising demand for high-capacity and sustainable network services among over 180 connected networks, including Internet Service Providers, Content Service Providers, and national and international carriers.
