Nokia is set to upgrade BBIX, Inc., a global leader in Internet Exchange, with its advanced IP routing technology to enhance its network capacity to 400GE. This upgrade aims to address the surging demand for data traffic, ensuring improved stability, flexibility, and reliability in network operations.
As BBIX continues to experience substantial growth in internet traffic, the deployment of Nokia’s 7220 Interconnect Router (IXR), powered by the SR Linux Network Operating System (NOS), will play a crucial role in optimizing network interconnections. This initiative not only bolsters BBIX’s capacity but also facilitates superior services for its customer base.
The initial phase of deployment will take place in Japan, with plans for subsequent expansion to other markets, including Singapore. Hideyuki Sasaki, President & CEO at BBIX, emphasized that navigating the modern landscape of internet traffic requires a robust and scalable infrastructure, which Nokia’s solution offers.
Kent Wong, Vice President and Head of IP Networks for Asia Pacific at Nokia, noted the strategic collaboration between Nokia and BBIX to enhance operational efficiency through this upgrade, indicating a commitment to meeting the industry’s evolving demands.
The partnership marks a significant step towards providing BBIX customers with a vastly improved network capable of handling high-volume data traffic while ensuring quality service.
