Nokia and SK Broadband have implemented a quantum secure network for Korea Hydro and Nuclear Plant (KHNP) to enhance cybersecurity. This deployment, completed in August 2024, allows KHNP to safeguard its network from current and future cyber threats, including potential quantum computing attacks.

Nokia's Quantum-Safe Network solution employs advanced cryptography and includes transmission equipment, interconnect routers, and service access systems. The Network Services Platform played a crucial role in simplifying network operations and management.

Kim Gooyoung, Head of Enterprise Sales Division at SK Broadband, emphasized the importance of this technology for protecting critical energy infrastructure in South Korea and noted its role in keeping pace with evolving cybersecurity challenges.

Jay Han, Head of Network Infrastructure business at Nokia Korea, reiterated the significance of protecting essential systems from cyber threats and highlighted the company's commitment to expanding quantum-safe technology throughout Korea.

This initiative not only secures KHNP's operations but also positions it to effectively respond to the increasing cyber threats characteristic of the modern landscape.
