Nokia and Fibrus have entered into a five-year agreement to implement the Nokia Deepfield solution across Fibrus' broadband network. This move comes after a successful trial and aims to strengthen Fibrus’ network security and improve management of high-quality broadband services.

The partnership will enhance Fibrus’ capability to combat cyber threats, such as distributed denial of service attacks, while also managing increasing customer demand for broadband. With over 100,000 customers already connected, Fibrus plans to further expand its network to serve up to 400,000 premises.

The Deepfield solution from Nokia gives us the tools to understand our traffic better, protect against potential threats, and reduce operational costs.”

Fibrus has reported a 50% take-up rate of its fiber-to-the-home services, including 2 Gbps products. The scalability of the Nokia Deepfield solution will also allow Fibrus to manage future service expansions, such as 25/50/100G PON technologies.

Previously, in 2020, Nokia was selected by Fibrus to assist in delivering high-speed broadband services to underserved rural and regional areas in Northern Ireland, providing key technology and resources to improve connectivity.
