Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE) teamed with Nokia to deploy joint networking solutions in a series of hospitality settings.
Among the deployments are at Wembley Park in London, the home of England’s national soccer stadium, and the Wembley Area concert venue. Their converged networking technologies will also see use in more sunny climes, like in Ikos Resorts in Greece, and Pantai Jerudong Hospital in Brunei.
Nokia’s optical LAN offerings, like its Aurelis line, are integrated into ALE’s LAN and Wi-Fi solutions to provide improved in-building and campus connectivity.
The pair contends their converged offerings provide lower energy consumption and total cost of ownership, while ensuring networking needs are met across complex environments often found in hospitality settings. For example, supporting Ikos sites in Greece, the hotel chain was able to run its guest services, closed-circuit TV, voice, Wi-Fi, and building safety sensors through a single network architecture.
Hospitality applications benefit from inclusions like asset discovery and classification, virtual segmentation, and optional redundant uplinks.
“By combining ALE’s agile enterprise networking solutions with Nokia’s carrier-grade infrastructure, we offer a comprehensive portfolio that addresses the unique needs of critical industries,” Sandrine El Khodry, EVP of global sales and marketing at ALE, noted in a statement.
The hospitality wins add to the pair’s already successful partnership, with their joint offerings leveraged by more than 100 enterprises globally. The pair have been working together for some five years, having worked on projects supporting networks for the Grand Paris Express, Montreal Railways, and Okada Manila Resort.
“Our collaboration with Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise allows us to deliver end-to-end, mission-critical solutions that go beyond traditional boundaries,” Matthieu Bourguignon, SVP and head of Europe at Nokia, added.
