Nextivity has introduced a new solution that combines its Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement System (ERCES) and Distributed Antenna System (DAS) technology. This development aims to enhance emergency response in schools and public spaces. The system incorporates acoustic gunshot detection capabilities, a first for DAS, contributing to improved public safety solutions.

The Nextivity ERCES offerings, including SHIELD EXTEND and SHIELD SOLO, are integrated with the Nextivity WAVE Edge Services. This integration facilitates features crucial for public safety, such as server-side antenna monitoring and panic button alerts that comply with Alyssa's Law. The use of patented IntelliBoost technology allows the DAS infrastructure to operate as a sensor network while maintaining wireless signal coverage.

Nextivity's CEO Michiel Lotter stated, “We are very happy to see our advanced DAS technologies working together to deliver solutions that help keep people safe.” He highlighted the company’s years of experience within the public safety sector and noted the combined technology in their offerings as a key factor for building owners in the ERCES market.

Lotter will present the new technology on March 18 at the IWCE conference, discussing the applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in gunshot detection and its role in emergency planning.
