The upgrade comes in response to the increasing frequency of attacks on home network devices, with reports indicating an average of ten attacks every 24 hours. NETGEAR Armor offers a subscription-based cybersecurity service designed to protect not just routers but also smart home IoT devices and mobile gadgets, ensuring comprehensive security coverage.

Shalini Sengupta, senior product manager at NETGEAR, highlighted the rising consumer demand for unified security tools. “With many currently managing multiple costly subscriptions, NETGEAR Armor aims to streamline security while delivering essential protection under one solution,” she stated.

Armor utilizes artificial intelligence to continuously scan connected devices for vulnerabilities, monitor for data breaches, and provide actionable recommendations through the Orbi and Nighthawk app interfaces. The service has also been recognized as a leader in router security, excelling in protecting home users from denial of service, brute force attacks, and endpoint vulnerabilities.

In light of customer feedback, NETGEAR is incorporating extended warranty coverage and 24/7 priority tech support into the Armor subscription, further enhancing the service’s value. A new tier, Armor Plus, offers unlimited VPN access for up to 50 devices, along with ad-blocking and anti-tracking features.

Both NETGEAR Armor and Armor Plus are available now, with annual subscription pricing set at $99.99 for Armor and $149.99 for Armor Plus. NETGEAR’s commitment to providing a holistic solution is aimed at safeguarding users in an increasingly connected world.
