Cradlepoint acquires cloud security provider to integrate 5G, SASEEricsson’s Cradlepoint will acquire Ericom Software to build a platform for cellular-first customers to integrate secure access service edge (SASE), zero trust and cloud security capabilities across wireless and 5G/cellular networks.
“Enterprise adoption of 5G requires a new network security approach that minimizes attack surface caused by IoT and industrial IoT (IIoT) device proliferation, provides agentless identity-based secure access from ever-growing IoT/IIoT devices and users to private and [software-as-a-service] applications,” Cradlepoint SVP Manish Tiwari said of the deal. Deutsche Telekom regains majority control of T-Mobile USDeutsche Telekom (DT) regained much wanted control over its U.S. subsidiary T-Mobile US in a move the German telecom giant said will help solidify its financial footing.
DT CEO Timotheus Hottges told investors during the carrier’s 2023 shareholders’ meeting that it issued Japan’s SoftBank 225 million treasury shares for a 3.7% stake in T-Mobile US. Those shares cost DT nearly $5.8 billion, but provided it with a controlling stake in the U.S. operator.
