Meta Platforms, Inc. has secured four contracts with Invenergy for 760 megawatts of clean energy, bringing its total procurement from the Chicago-based energy developer to over 1 gigawatt. This move supports Meta's ambitious clean energy goals amidst soaring electricity demands.

Invenergy's Executive Vice President of Origination, Ted Romaine, emphasized the importance of delivering long-term clean energy solutions and highlighted that the collaboration will contribute to local job creation and economic benefits. Meta's Head of Global Energy, Urvi Parekh, noted that surpassing the 1 gigawatt milestone demonstrates the company's commitment to sustainable energy sources to meet its operational needs.

The agreements are linked to four solar facilities developed by Invenergy, strategically designed to bolster local energy reliability while generating clean energy credits for Meta. The solar projects include Hardin II Solar in Ohio, Delilah II Solar in Texas, Tip Top Solar in New Mexico, and Chalk Bluff Solar in Arkansas, with operational dates spanning from 2024 to 2027.
