Keysight Technologies has expanded its radio frequency (RF) and microwave instrument portfolio with the addition of six new analog signal generators, two vector signal generators, eight RF synthesizers, and three signal source analyzers. This new lineup is designed to support RF engineers by providing compact instruments that are effective for component and device characterization at frequencies reaching up to 54 GHz.

Signal generators and RF synthesizers are critical tools for RF engineers, utilized in testing components for radar and defense electronics, wireless communication systems, and consumer electronics, among other areas. The new signal source analyzers assist engineers in accurately characterizing key performance metrics such as phase noise and jitter across various applications, including radar systems and optical communications.

According to Joe Rickert, Vice President and General Manager at Keysight's High Frequency Measurements Center of Excellence, “These new signal generators, frequency synthesizers, and signal source analyzers provide RF engineers a number of new test tools that provide an exciting combination of technical performance, compact form factors, and cost-effectiveness.”

The new portfolio is noted for its low phase noise, fast switching speeds, and multi-channel coherence options. The compact design allows for portability, rapid testing solutions, and modulation capabilities, making them suitable for integration into systems and manufacturing applications.

The AP5042A multi-channel signal generator designed for MIMO test applications will be highlighted at the Mobile World Conference scheduled for March 3-6 in Barcelona, Spain.
