Keysight Technologies and MediaTek have announced a collaboration achieving near 12Gbps 5G IP data throughput. This was accomplished using MediaTek’s new radio dual connectivity (NR-DC) device alongside Keysight’s Network Emulation Solutions in a lab setting. The breakthrough enables MediaTek’s offerings to support next-generation applications like immersive gaming, ultra-high-definition streaming, and low-latency cloud computing.
Achieving higher throughput in 5G testing is essential for faster data speeds and supporting advanced applications such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR). Keysight’s solutions facilitate lab testing that mimics complex real-world conditions, crucial for ensuring that 5G chipsets perform reliably across various scenarios.
Dr. Ho-Chi Hwang, General Manager of Wireless Communication Systems and Partnerships at MediaTek, remarked on the milestone, stating that their collaboration with Keysight has led to enhanced connectivity and performance, beneficial for consumers and businesses alike. Peng Cao, Vice President and General Manager of Keysight’s Wireless Test group, noted that the partnership aims to expand the capabilities of the 5G ecosystem by ensuring efficient communication and superior connectivity for emerging applications.
