Keysight Technologies and Alea S.r.l have validated the first mission-critical 3GPP Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (EUTRA) test case for mission-critical-push-to-talk (MCPTT) at a recent Global Certification Forum (GCF) meeting. This validation, which utilized the Keysight S8704A Protocol Conformance Toolset, sets a foundation for mandatory mission-critical conformance certification.

Mission Critical Communications, including MCPTT, offers reliable communication solutions for crucial scenarios such as public safety and transportation. The transition from narrowband to broadband technology introduces features like video calling and emphasizes the need for conformance testing to ensure standards compliance for dependable operations.

Keysight's validation focused on the 3GPP-defined LTE MCPTT EUTRA test case using an Alea Mission Critical Services User Equipment Client. The testing encompasses key processes such as LTE attach, Session initiation protocol (SIP) registration, user authentication, and key management. Keysight's S8704A tool facilitates conformance testing through a user-friendly interface, streamlining the preparation and execution of tests.
