Juniper Networks named Kevin Walker its new CTO of security on Thursday, replacing Chris Hoff, who left Juniper (and Silicon Valley) in June.

Walker, who started his new job on Monday, was assistant chief information security officer at Walmart. His 25 years of experience in information security and technology includes stints at Intuit, Cisco, Symantec, and Veritas Software.

At Juniper, Walker is a member of the senior leadership team, reporting to Jonathan Davidson, who is executive vice president of Juniper Development and Innovation.

Walker is charged with working on Juniper’s security roadmap and will also visit with investors, partners, and customers.

Hoff left Juniper to become senior vice president of security for Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
