Juniper Networks and Netcracker rolled out a product for service providers that automates LAN, wireless LAN, and WAN environments.
It’s called Enterprise Service Automation, and it unifies LAN and WAN environments so service providers can manage security and network services for their enterprise customers. The product includes Juniper’s LAN, WLAN, and WAN technologies, which use Mist artificial intelligence (AI) to provide analytics and automation from the edge to the cloud. Meanwhile Netcracker provides service orchestration and a digital marketplace based on its Netcracker 2020 Digital BSS/OSS portfolio to automate service provisioning and full lifecycle management across multiple network domains from a single interface.
The companies say a tier-one global service provider in Europe has already deployed Enterprise Service Automation as a managed service.
Juniper bought Mist last year, and since then it has extended Mist’s AI capabilities across the LAN, WLAN, and WAN. Most recently it pushed Mist AI and WiFi 6 updates to its enterprise access points that converge WiFi, Bluetooth, and IoT.
The joint-product with Netcracker uses Mist’s AI-driven analytics and insights based on user interactions, alerts, and diagnostics across the LAN and WAN, thus allowing services to scale on demand and networks to self-correct incidents automatically.
Enterprise Service Automation also uses open APIs so that it can expand into additional network domains, such as the transport network and 5G, and connect into additional third-party partners.
Additionally, Mist’s microservices-based cloud sends frequent updates to service providers about their customers’ LAN and WAN environments.
This isn’t the first time the two vendors have partnered on products for service providers and enterprise customers. Juniper and Netcracker have been working together in 2003, and in 2016 they expanded their partnership to deliver NFV-based services.
