SDxCentral is shocked to learn that Kevin Johnson, former Juniper Networks CEO, has been spotted working at Starbucks.
It's hard to picture Johnson, who succeeded founding CEO Scott Kriens in 2008 and stepped down in 2013, working behind the counter. He'd tried to emphasize a software future for Juniper before software-defined networking (SDN) had entered the vernacular. Now he'll emphasize the multiple ways to spell "Chris" on venti-sized cups.
Johnson was succeeded at Juniper by Shaygan Kheradpir, who subsequently departed in November. Now Johnson will be succeeded by Bob, who takes the closing shift Mondays through Wednesd—

... So, um, as we were saying, Kevin Johnson has been named the president and chief operating officer of Starbucks, effective March 1. The company made the announcement Thursday afternoon and introduced Johnson to investors during the first-quarter earnings call. Johnson has been on Starbucks' board since 2009.
Yeah, that makes more sense.
Johnson might be happy with his new role, but it's too bad we'll never get to experience his cappuccino foam art.
