Information Services Group has launched a research study focused on examining providers of software-defined networking (SDN) services, which will culminate in a series of ISG Provider Lens reports scheduled for June 2025. The study will assess various offerings including managed SD-WAN services, SDN transformation services, edge technologies including private 5G, and secure access service edge (SASE) solutions.

These reports will equip enterprise buyers with essential insights to evaluate existing vendor relationships and potential new partnerships. ISG advisors will utilize the findings to assist their clients in identifying suitable providers in the SDN market.

Research will include detailed evaluations of consulting and implementation services offered by SD-WAN providers, as well as associated edge technologies such as IoT and software-defined LAN solutions. Key insights from the study will help enterprises understand the benefits of centralized network management.

ISG has circulated surveys to over 160 service providers in the SDN segment, aiming to compile data into four quadrants that categorize the key SDN services enterprises typically seek. The quadrants will address managed SD-WAN services, SDN transformation services, edge technologies, and SASE solutions.

Reports will cover the global SDN marketplace, with a regional focus on Asia Pacific, Germany, the U.S., and the U.K. The study aims to enhance understanding of current market offerings and inform strategic decisions for enterprises navigating the SDN landscape.
