During the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, Huawei hosted a global healthcare session focused on digital transformation and AI in healthcare. Experts shared insights into the application of digital strategies and AI development in the sector.
Dr. Peter Zhou, Vice President of Huawei, emphasized the company’s strategy of “always-on data and value release” and highlighted products such as the multi-modal converged data lake and DCS AI, aimed at enhancing healthcare AI capabilities.
Wind Li, another Vice President at Huawei, noted that the company has supported over 5,600 healthcare facilities across more than 110 countries, focusing on advancing digital transformation to improve global healthcare access.
Hong-Eng Koh, Chief Scientist in Huawei's Global Public Sector BU, spoke about AI’s potential in healthcare, explaining how it can improve diagnostic accuracy, reduce the burden on healthcare professionals, and provide personalized treatment options.
Luis Santiago Sánchez Fernández, CTO of the Andalusian Health Service, introduced Diraya, a centralized health information system that aids nearly 9 million residents in accessing equitable healthcare. In partnership with Huawei, SAS aims to enhance health services through intelligent and secure systems.
Tsvetomir Nikolov, IT Director of Acibadem City Clinic, discussed utilizing digital technology to offer comprehensive patient services and noted a partnership with Huawei to enhance their smart hospital capabilities.
Feng Feng from KFBIO highlighted how AI assists in pathological diagnoses through an AI-based digital pathology solution developed with Huawei, which improves diagnosis accuracy and efficiency. Huawei intends to further invest in technology innovation and continue integrating AI to enhance healthcare intelligence and accessibility.
