Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Juniper Networks have responded to the U.S. Department of Justice's lawsuit aimed at blocking their proposed acquisition. The companies argue that the DOJ's analysis is flawed and assert that the merger will foster greater innovation and competition in the networking market.

HPE and Juniper emphasize that the transaction will benefit customers by creating a robust AI-driven and cloud-native IT portfolio while strengthening the U.S. national security by fortifying the American core tech sector. They plan to vigorously defend against the DOJ’s claims, which they feel fail to accurately reflect the competitive landscape of the Wireless LAN market.

The acquisition has already been cleared by antitrust regulators across 14 jurisdictions, including major approvals in Europe, while they note that no evidence of customer complaints has been provided by the DOJ.

HPE and Juniper assert that combining their resources will create a formidable alternative to established players globally, enhancing their capability to support customers with a comprehensive networking solution.

Despite the legal hurdle, both companies remain committed to the merger, believing it will deliver substantial benefits to their customers and contribute positively to the technology infrastructure in the U.S.
