Diane Bryant, who just joined Google Cloud as its chief operating officer in November 2017, has left the company. Prior to Google, Bryant headed up Intel’s data center group. At Intel she was credited with expanding the business’ focus to include pervasive cloud computing, network virtualization, and artificial intelligence.

Bryant had reported to Google Cloud CEO and SVP Diane Greene. And Bryant's hiring had been lauded as a coup for Google. But now, only seven months since joining the cloud giant, Bryant has left and Google is offering her “the best in her next pursuit.” The company’s cloud business is competing against Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, which own the No. 1 and No. 2 spots in public cloud revenues, respectively.

It’s anyone’s guess where Bryant will land. But her old employer, Intel, is in need of a new CEO. In June, former Intel CEO Brian Krzanich was ousted from his position for violating the company’s non-fraternization policy by having a past consensual relationship with an employee. Intel Chief Financial Officer Robert Swan is serving as interim CEO while the company searches for a successor.

Equifax hired Bryson Koehler to serve as its chief technology officer. Koehler hails from IBM where he was CTO for IBM Watson and IBM’s cloud platform. At Equifax he will lead the company’s global information technology strategy. And he will also work closely with the company's data and analytics teams to deliver data insights and security to customers.

As the CTO for IBM's Watson and cloud platform, Koehler helped IBM reset its strategic direction to be cloud-native. He also brought all of the security teams together to ensure IBM's cloud was compliant.

And security is a big deal for Equifax since the credit-reporting company suffered a major security hack last summer. The sensitive personal data of about 143 million American consumers was exposed in the Equifax data breach.

Dan Smoot joined Riverbed as the company’s first chief customer officer. He’ll report to Riverbed CEO Paul Mountford. Smoot was most recently executive vice president at Salesforce where he managed the worldwide partner sales organization. Prior to Salesforce, Smoot worked at VMware as SVP of global customer operations where he oversaw services and renewals and global channels and alliances. Before VMware, he spent more than 10 years in a variety of senior leadership roles at Cisco.

At Riverbed, Smoot will focus on customer success and be responsible for global support and renewals, professional services, and education. He will focus on the customer lifecycle strategy and drive long-term partnerships with both Riverbed customers and channel partners.

Former Citrix Systems President and CEO Mark Templeton became CEO of cloud provider DigitalOcean.

Longtime industry consultant Tom Nolle joined 128 Technology’s technical advisory board.

Sprint named Andrew Davies as the company's CFO, reporting to CEO Michel Combes. Davies most recently served as group CFO for Amsterdam-based VEON before stepping down from that role in November 2017. He also spent more than a decade with Vodafone Group.

Qualcomm appointed two new independent directors to its board of directors: Mark Fields, former president and CEO of Ford Motor Company, and Neil Smit, vice chairman of Comcast.

NTT Data Services promoted Bob Pryor to CEO. Former NTT Data Services CEO John McCain was named the company’s new executive chairman. McCain will also become the first non-Japanese member of the board of directors for NTT Data Corporation.

AT&T Business Chief Product Officer Roman Pacewicz joined the MEF board of directors.

Cloud monitoring firm Sysdig hired Keegan Riley as senior vice president of worldwide sales. Riley joins Sysdig from Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) where he was the vice president of sales for the North America segment of the storage division.

Aviat Networks, which provides microwave networking systems, appointed Stan Gallagher as chief operating officer, a newly created leadership position. Gallagher will also assume the role of principal financial officer of Aviat.

Cybersecurity and application networking company A10 Networks appointed Anthony Webb as vice president of sales in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Before joining A10, Webb served as vice president EMEA at Ixia Technologies.

Gurucul, a company that does behavior-based security and fraud analytics for on-premises and cloud environments, named Jasen Meece as president. Meece comes from IBM where he was managing partner for IBM’s global security group.

DevOps company SignalFx hired Leonid Igolnik as executive vice president of engineering. Prior to joining SignalFx, Igolnik led engineering for CA Technologies and Oracle/Taleo.

PagerDuty, a provider of digital operations management, appointed former NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson to its board of directors. In 2016, Nelson led the $9.3 billion sale of NetSuite to Oracle.

QuickBase, which provides no-code application development platforms, appointed Doug Wendell as CFO.

Management, orchestration, and automation company AppViewX named former Cedexis CEO and F5 executive Ryan Windham as its new CEO.
