The GSMA has established strategic partnerships with various organizations in the automotive and aviation sectors to enhance connectivity solutions. These partnerships aim to better understand connectivity needs and support the development of advanced services that improve safety, efficiency, and customer experience.

Partnering organizations include the 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), Japan Automotive Software Platform and Architecture (JASPAR), Outsight, Safran Passenger Innovations, and Seamless Air Alliance. This follows a previous collaboration with the Automotive Edge Computing Consortium signed last October.

The GSMA Fusion initiative will lead these efforts, focusing on identifying unmet enterprise needs that advanced networks can address. As part of the GSMA Open Gateway, Fusion collaborates with industries like automotive and aviation to foster demand for solutions based on 5G APIs.

Mats Granryd, Director General of GSMA, noted, “The partnerships we're announcing today, through GSMA Fusion, provide strong direction from these industries to ours, helping the mobile ecosystem truly meet the needs of the automotive and aviation sectors and harness the power of mobile connectivity to create innovative solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and customer experience.” The GSMA Open Gateway initiative has already attracted the participation of over 72 mobile operator groups globally.

This initiative is designed to facilitate the creation of digital products that can operate seamlessly across devices irrespective of country or operator, utilizing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for network capabilities. These APIs are accessible via the CAMARA repository, an open-source project supported by the Linux Foundation, GSMA, and TM Forum.
