Fujitsu Limited has introduced the Open Quantum Toolchain for Operators and Users, an open-source operations software for quantum computers available on GitHub. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the University of Osaka, Systems Engineering Consultants Co., LTD., and TIS Inc., allows users to customize the software from setup through operation, intending to facilitate practical applications of quantum computing.
Previously, universities and companies venturing into cloud access for their quantum computers had to independently create extensive software solutions. Fujitsu's open-source offering aims to reduce the complexity and cost of deploying quantum computing resources in the cloud.
The software will be integrated into Fujitsu's existing services for partner companies utilizing its quantum computers, with availability anticipated in the second half of 2025.
Going forward, Fujitsu plans to collaborate with its research partners to further develop the software's capabilities and foster a global community around quantum computing.
