Seattle-based application security firm F5 has released a series of new post-quantum cryptography (PQC) readiness solutions.

As part of the F5 Application Delivery and Security Platform, the solutions are aimed at helping enterprises address the cybersecurity risks inherent in a quantum future.

F5 claims to offer comprehensive PQC support for both server-side and client-side encryption, with ‘seamless’ integration helping to protect organizations’ apps, APIs, and data while optimizing performance.

The tools come built on NIST-standardized algorithms and are promised to protect data, intellectual property, and operations without slowing performance. The F5 offering includes full-spectrum encryption, combining client-side protection with backend security, high-performance firewalls, access controls, and threat intelligence.

Hybrid and multicloud environments are supported, with F5 also providing centralized management and visibility across encrypted traffic, applications, and APIs, along with automation and AI support.

Kunal Anand, chief innovation officer at F5, commented: “Post-quantum threats aren’t a distant problem – they’re a forcing function to modernize security now.”

Gartner backs him up here, claiming quantum computing will make asymmetric cryptography unsafe by 2029, and that by 2034, asymmetric cryptography will be “fully breakable” with quantum computing technologies.
