Eon announced a $70 million Series C funding round led by BOND, bringing its total funding to $200 million and its valuation to $1.4 billion. The company aims to provide instant access to backed-up cloud data through its innovative platform.

Founded in January 2024, Eon has transformed traditional cloud backup processes, enabling automated management of backups, addressing the challenges faced by enterprises in cloud data management. Return investors including Sequoia Capital, Greenoaks, and Lightspeed Venture Partners joined this funding round.

The global annual spend on cloud services is projected to reach $679 billion by the end of 2024, highlighting the increasing importance of effective cloud backup solutions. Current backup operations are often cumbersome and pose risks due to manual management, which Eon's platform seeks to eliminate.

Eon, co-founded by CloudEndure veterans Ofir Ehrlich and Gonen Stein, as well as former AWS leader Ron Kimchi, aims to ensure complete visibility and seamless access to backup data, effectively redefining backup management for enterprises.

“From our first meeting with Eon's founders, we knew they were onto something that would reshape the enterprise landscape,” said Jay Simons, partner at BOND. Eon plans to demonstrate its capabilities at AWS re:Invent in Las Vegas from December 2nd to 6th, where CTO Ron Kimchi will present insights on cloud backup advancements.
