Dynatrace has unveiled its “Observability for Developers” suite, aimed at providing development teams with enhanced runtime insights and troubleshooting tools to support the increasing complexity of modern cloud-native environments.

As applications evolve and become more distributed, the need for comprehensive observability has grown. This new offering enables developers to gain critical insights into application performance, infrastructure health, and user experiences, facilitating innovation while ensuring system reliability.

The suite includes several key features:

  • Easy Data Access and Exploration: Users can utilize an intuitive dashboard for log, metrics, and trace analytics. This is powered by Dynatrace’s AI engine, Davis® AI, allowing teams to monitor performance, analyze user interactions, and forecast outcomes seamlessly.
  • Live Debugger: This tool streamlines AI-powered troubleshooting by providing real-time insights without needing to replicate issues or redeploy applications. Developers can extract crucial debugging data without impacting performance, aiding in swift problem resolution.
  • Self-service Enterprise Adoption: To avoid tool sprawl, Dynatrace introduces a self-service model for developers, offering tailored entry points and integrations with developer portals and IDEs for efficient access to observability tools.

KellyAnn Fitzpatrick, Senior Analyst at RedMonk, emphasized the growing recognition of observability's importance in IT operations, noting that Dynatrace’s initiative addresses the demand for tools designed specifically for developers.

He highlighted the balance of efficiency and compliance provided by these new tools.

The Live Debugger is in private preview and will be launched within the next 90 days as part of the Observability for Developers solution.
