Dynatrace has announced the expansion of its security portfolio with a new Cloud security posture management (CSPM) solution. This offering aims to enhance security, compliance, and resource efficiency for enterprises managing complex hybrid and multicloud environments. By integrating continuous monitoring, automated remediation, and centralized visibility, the Dynatrace CSPM promises to strengthen cloud security posture.

The new solution builds upon Dynatrace's existing Kubernetes Security Posture Management (kubernetes security and compliance (KSPM)) capabilities, allowing organizations to manage their entire cloud security through a single platform. It aggregates and contextualizes security and observability data, interfacing seamlessly with existing hyperscaler-specific tools, and delivering crucial insights into the security posture of applications and their underlying infrastructure. Furthermore, it aids organizations in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards such as PCI, CIS, and GDPR, thereby reducing the operational burden associated with security management.

Customers utilizing Dynatrace’s Application Security and Threat Observability solutions currently assess exposure, detect threats, and analyze security incidents with comprehensive data insights. The integration of CSPM with existing features enhances full stack protection including applications, containers, and cloud infrastructure.

According to Philip Bues, Senior Research Manager at IDC, the true promise of this unified approach lies in its ability to help cloud security teams prioritize alerts by providing contextual insights, allowing for more effective remediation of critical issues. Steve Tack, Chief Product Officer at Dynatrace, commented on the necessity of holistic security solutions for modern enterprises, emphasizing the importance of a single-platform approach for delivering continuous security insights and automating compliance adherence.

The Dynatrace CSPM solution is anticipated to be available within the next 90 days.
