DigitalOcean has announced enhancements to its DigitalOcean Kubernetes Service (DOKS), allowing customers to effortlessly scale up to 1,000 nodes. This update aims to provide simplified growth, optimized networking for cloud integration, and reduced operational overhead.
DOKS includes a streamlined, 1-click experience for cluster creation with a variety of CPU and GPU droplet options. Businesses can now manage traffic fluctuations easily. The service promises straightforward onboarding and predictable pricing without hidden costs.
Bratin Saha, Chief Product and Technology Officer at DigitalOcean, stated, “DigitalOcean is excited to announce a major evolution of DOKS, helping growing tech companies overcome scalability and performance barriers with Kubernetes.” He emphasized that this expansion allows organizations to run larger workloads efficiently.
Key enhancements to DigitalOcean Kubernetes involve seamless scaling to 1,000 nodes, simplified VPC networking, improved performance with eBPF-based routing, and fully-managed Cilium for optimized network management.
NoBid, an ad-tech platform managing over 200 billion auctions monthly, utilizes DOKS to handle high request traffic. Shawn Petersen, CIO at NoBid, praised DigitalOcean Kubernetes for its capacity to scale and manage large data volumes.
