Deutsche Telekom today rolled out vCloud Availability, VMware's disaster-recovery-as-a-service platform, to its Dynamic Services for Infrastructure (DSI).
The company says the new disaster recovery service offers its customers a simple, secure, and cost-effective onboarding, migration, and disaster recovery service for multi-tenant, VMware clouds.
Deutsche Telekom claims to be the first European service provider to receive certification to offer VMware's disaster recovery service.
"With VMware vCloud Availability on DSI vCloud we offer our clients a service that is unique in the market," said Frank Strecker, senior VP of cloud computing and big data at Deutsche Telekom, in a statement. "In our capacity as a cloud integrator, we are making it as easy as possible for our customers to use cloud services in a secure manner."
And according to Rajeev Bhardwaj, VP of products at VMware, the service will allow Deutsche Telekom to provide more robust business continuity to businesses of all sizes. "Dynamic Services for Infrastructure with vCloud empowers companies to recover data quickly and avoid business outages when a man-made or natural disaster strikes."
VMware Deepens DT PartnershipLast week VMware scored a big win when Deutsche Telekom announced a new partnership to bring its VeloCloud SD-WAN platform to an even larger audience. VeloCloud joined Deutsche Telekom's Smart SD-WAN service alongside competitors Silver Peak and Riverbed.
“They are a leader in the market, and we see this partnership as critical to the success of SD-WAN adoption worldwide and especially in Europe,” said Sanjay Uppal, VP and GM of the VeloCloud business unit.
As of this year, VMware’s SD-WAN is now offered by more than 100 service providers around the world.
