Dell Technologies today rolled out a suite of services that integrate the vendor’s security expertise with Microsoft security tools to protect its customers’ Microsoft ecosystems with zero-trust principles.
With the new Identity & Endpoint Protection with Microsoft Zero Trust, Dell doubles down on its zero-trust push. Earlier this month, Dell announced the opening of its Zero Trust Center of Excellence and cybersecurity advisory services that provide a zero-trust roadmap building on customers’ existing security assets.
This time, Dell expands its zero-trust offerings to customers using Microsoft products. “Many of our customers rely heavily on the Microsoft ecosystem to keep business moving – from Microsoft 365 to cloud workloads and more – and it’s important to ensure the data within these mission-critical systems are protected with a trusted framework,” Mustafa Hamid, global discipline lead of modern workforce of Dell Technologies Consulting Services, told SDxCentral in response to questions.
Built and delivered by Dell, the new zero-trust services will assess customers’ current environment first with Dell base-level security advisory services and create a zero-trust strategy or roadmap based on the assessment and customers’ goals.
Then, Dell will help those customers establish a security identity control plane and set up the necessary implementations to secure identities, data, and applications that include Microsoft security tools for multi-factor authentication, conditional access control, identity management, and endpoint security, Hamid explained.
Dell Zero-Trust Services Complements Microsoft Security ToolsHamid noted Dell is one of the largest Microsoft partners and a member of the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association.
The new zero-trust services take advantage of security offerings from both vendors, including Dell’s managed detection and response and the security advisory services that are built with zero-trust controls, as well as Microsoft Defender and Sentinel security services, Entra identity and management platform, and Purview compliance and privacy products.
Dell wants to meet customers who already are using Microsoft security tools where they are in their zero-trust journey, Hamid said.
“For customers that are already using [Microsoft] Defender services, our services can make sure they are getting maximum value out of those investments,” he added. “We have seen many times that customers implement a small fraction of the capability of the product and much more value can be obtained from their Defender licensing than they may currently be using.”
