Cyberhaven has appointed Chris Bates as its new Chief Security Officer, bolstering its security strategy amid a rapidly evolving data protection landscape. Bates brings over two decades of expertise in crafting security strategies for both startups and Fortune 100 companies.

Howard Ting, CEO of Cyberhaven, expressed confidence in Bates' ability to enhance the company’s innovative approach to data security, especially as organizations face new challenges in an AI-driven world. “Chris Bates has a proven track record of building and scaling security strategies for hypergrowth companies,” Ting noted, emphasizing the importance of aligning technical innovation with business priorities.

Bates comes to Cyberhaven from SentinelOne, where he played a pivotal role in its growth from a Series B startup to a leading cybersecurity firm. His leadership contributed to the company's record-breaking IPO, raising $1.2 billion. Beyond SentinelOne, Bates has also held notable positions at Nike and has collaborated with security agencies, bringing a comprehensive background in incident response and cybersecurity strategy.
