CrowdStrike teamed up with Ernst & Young (EY) on anti-ransomware and zero-trust services with three new, joint offerings that build on an earlier partnership between the two companies.

The three new services — ransomware readiness; incident response, recovery, and remediation; and zero trust capabilities — combine CrowdStrike’s Falcon security platform and incident response with EY’s consulting and risk management services. And they build off of the partners’ earlier alliance, announced in October 2020, that focused on addressing cyber risk and threat management, cyber incident response, and cyber threat intelligence.

In addition to the offerings, CrowdStrike and EY also expanded their alliance outside of the U.S. The services under the partnership now extend to joint customers in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, and Italy.

Ransomware is likely top of mind for most businesses, and CrowdStrike and EY say it’s a key focus of their alliance. The new Ransomware Readiness and Resilience service combines EY’s security operations and response services with CrowdStrike’s Falcon security platform, which provides protection and detection capabilities for endpoints and workloads, as well as 24/7 threat hunting.

The companies say that the combination helps to contain active threats immediately and mitigate the threat of ransomware attacks.

The second service — Incident Response, Recovery, and Remediation helps customers contain an attack and more quickly recover from a breach. Is combines CrowdStrike’s threat intel and real-time response capabilities via Falcon as well as both CrowdStrike’s incident response services. Additionally, EY proactively identifies ineffective security practices and IT vulnerabilities that are putting businesses at risk.

And finally, CrowdStrike and EY teamed up on zero trust, which essentially provides the security vendor’s zero-trust technologies to joint EY customers. It uses the Falcon platform, which processes trillions of events in real-time and continuously validates the access of resources for users, devices, and applications. The partners say this integration will make it easier for customers to adopt a zero-trust security approach by providing them with high-fidelity attack correlation, fast policy enforcement, and dynamic conditional access based on continuous, real-time security risk assessments.

Earlier this month, CrowdStrike and Google Cloud announced a similar partnership to provide visibility, workload protection, and defense-in-depth security across customers’ hybrid environments.
