Cisco today said it will acquire Dashbase and roll the startup’s technology into its AppDynamics platform, which provides application performance management and analytics.

Dashbase is a 4-year-old company based in Palo Alto, California, that developed software to help communication service providers troubleshoot chat, video, and voice calls. It’s built on Kubernetes, and it collects and analyzes all the log data across systems to pinpoint problems in real time.

Dashbase customers include Dialpad, SkySwitch, and Stem.

In a blog post about the acquisition, Cisco’s Linda Tong, GM of AppDynamics, said integrating Dashbase into AppDynamics will help customers unify and analyze their data. “Dashbase will enable customers to support broader and more highly unique and uncommon data sources across cloud and traditional environments in a scalable, high-performance way, giving them greater insight into performance issues,” Tong wrote. “With Dashbase’s logs and events analytics technology, AppDynamics will be able to further streamline case investigation and the resolution process with support for metrics, events, logs and traces.”

The companies did not disclose any financial details about the purchase.

Cisco Buys Continue

This is Cisco’s third acquisition this month.

Earlier in December the networking giant said it reached a $730 million deal with IMImobile, a public company based in the United Kingdom, that provides communications software and services.

And it also announced its intent to acquire Slido, a Slovakian startup that developed an audience interaction platform with more than 7 million participants monthly. It gives companies real-time feedback before, during, and after events and meetings using polls, Q&A, and quizzes. The companies didn’t disclose the purchase private price for Slido, which raised about $36,400 in seed funding in 2013.

Cisco plans to fold both companies into its Webex portfolio, which has seen staggering growth during the COVID-19 pandemic.
