Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. has announced the transition of Gil Shwed to the role of Executive Chairman of the Board, with Nadav Zafrir appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer effective December 16, 2024.
“Check Point embarks on a new chapter, with my transition into my new role as Executive Chairman and the appointment of Nadav as the company’s new CEO. I’ve known Nadav for many years, and he is the perfect fit to lead Check Point to new heights,” stated Shwed. He expressed confidence in the company's strategy and leadership as both work together for future success.
Zafrir shared his enthusiasm for the position, stating, “To lead an iconic cyber security company at such a pivotal time for our industry is both a privilege and a profound responsibility.” He emphasized the importance of establishing and protecting trust in an increasingly digital world, underscoring Check Point's mission in that regard.
Before joining Check Point, Zafrir co-founded and was managing partner at Team8, focusing on cyber security and related sectors. He also had a notable military career, establishing the IDF’s Cyber Command and retiring as a Brigadier General.
This leadership transition marks a significant moment for Check Point as it continues to enhance its cloud-delivered cyber security solutions for over 100,000 organizations worldwide.
