Ceva, Inc. has announced new partnerships aimed at enhancing the development of AI features in smart edge devices. Collaborating with Cyberon and AIZIP, Ceva will provide pre-optimized AI models for its Ceva-NeuPro-Nano embedded AI NPUs, including functionalities such as keyword spotting, face recognition, and speaker identification.
Additionally, Ceva's partnership with Edge Impulse has expanded to include support for NVIDIA's TAO Toolkit, facilitating integration with Edge Impulse Studio for the NPN32 and NPN64 NPUs. These advancements are designed to streamline the creation of AI applications, allowing developers to leverage simplified tools and frameworks.
Chad Lucien, vice president at Ceva, stated, “We welcome Cyberon and AIZIP to our embedded AI ecosystem, advancing the value proposition of our Ceva-NeuPro-Nano NPU by providing customers with ready-to-use neural network models for high-demand, real-world use cases that enhance the user experience.” He emphasized the commitment to accelerate the deployment of AI applications on smart devices.
AIZIP, known for its compact AI models, aims to enhance insights from sensor fusion applications, particularly with its collaboration on face detection technology for the Ceva-NeuPro-Nano NPU. Yuan Lu, cofounder of AIZIP, noted, “Our goal is to simplify edge AI implementation for next-generation smart edge devices.”
Cyberon, recognized for its embedded speech solutions, is collaborating with Ceva to enhance its DSpotter keyword spotting technology for integration into smart devices. Alex Liou, VP at Cyberon, remarked, “Our DSpotter solution brings best-in-class keyword spotting to edge AI devices, enabling seamless, always-on user experiences.”
The enhanced collaboration with Edge Impulse will further leverage NVIDIA’s TAO models to optimize AI performance traits on the Ceva-NeuPro-Nano NPUs. Zach Shelby, CEO of Edge Impulse, described the integration as a method to effectively deploy AI/ML models on edge devices.
Ceva-NeuPro-Nano NPUs are available for licensing along with the optimized neural networks from Cyberon and AIZIP. The Edge Impulse platform is expected to be accessible in the upcoming months. For more information, visit Ceva’s official website.
