Celestial AI's recent acquisition of silicon photonics intellectual property from Rockley Photonics strengthens its position in optical computing technologies, enhancing its offerings for hyperscale data center customers.

Celestial AI has acquired Rockley Photonics’ silicon photonics intellectual property, including issued and pending patents, creating a robust portfolio totaling over 200 patents. The new patent portfolio includes technology in optoelectronic systems-in-package, electro-absorption modulators, and optical switch technology, applicable to various AI data center infrastructures.

Rockley Photonics has established foundational IP in silicon photonics since 2014, positioning itself ahead of many competitors. This new IP aligns with Celestial AI’s technology roadmap and supports its Photonic Fabric technology platform. The company aims to deliver scalable and energy-efficient solutions tailored for the demands of next-gen AI compute and networking.
