Cadence has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Secure-IC, enhancing its embedded security IP offerings. This acquisition is positioned to unlock significant market opportunities, reinforcing Cadence’s extensive IP portfolio, which currently encompasses advanced technologies such as AI/ML and DSP solutions.

Security is a foundational element of any design,” stated Boyd Phelps, senior vice president and general manager of Cadence’s Silicon Solutions Group. “The anticipated addition of Secure-IC’s proven embedded security IP and solutions is yet another example of our commitment to being our customers’ SoC design partner and delivering optimal value as they navigate the complexities of bringing AI-enabled SoCs and disaggregated designs to market faster and with greater impact.”

Secure-IC, recognized for its compliance with global cybersecurity standards, serves a diverse clientele, including notable companies such as SK Hynix, Synaptics, and Silicon Labs. CEO Hassan Triqui highlighted that joining Cadence will enhance their operational strength and accelerate innovation, enabling a more robust joint offering in the embedded cybersecurity solutions landscape.

This acquisition will provide Cadence with enhanced capabilities in addressing the complexities of embedded cybersecurity, ensuring comprehensive solutions that align with the evolving demands of connected systems. Secure-IC has successfully completed over 500 projects globally, indicating strong customer trust and market presence.

The transaction is expected to conclude in the first half of 2025, pending regulatory approvals. It is anticipated to be immaterial to Cadence's revenue and earnings in the current fiscal year.
