C Spire has launched its 5G Home Internet service aimed at increasing internet accessibility for thousands of underserved individuals in Mississippi. Leveraging its nationwide 5G wireless network, the service is designed to bring reliable, high-speed internet to areas lacking traditional broadband infrastructure.

Research indicates that approximately 23% of households in Mississippi do not have internet access. The new service utilizes Fixed-wireless access (FWA) technology to deliver speeds of up to 100 Mbps, making it a robust solution for rural communities.

Craig Jackson, senior vice president and general manager of consumer markets for C Spire, emphasized the critical role of internet connectivity for education and economic development. “Reliable internet service is no longer optional... We are adding value for our customers and bridging the digital divide by increasing connectivity in our home state,” he stated.

C Spire is partnering with Inseego to implement the service, utilizing the Inseego 5G Wavemaker FX3110 indoor cellular router, which supports up to 64 connected devices. Steve Harmon, Chief Revenue Officer at Inseego, remarked on the transformative nature of 5G FWA technology, aiming to ensure seamless connectivity in every household.

Key features of the offering include a premium wireless router and easy self-setup. C Spire's 5G Home Internet service is currently available to a limited number of homes starting January 19.
