Atos has announced the integration of generative artificial intelligence (AI) into its Selartag® cellar management application. This development is expected to significantly streamline the creation of wine inventory records. The company's new AI feature reportedly reduces the time required to create a listing by 90%, increasing data completeness from 53% to 88%.
Launched after a six-month development period in collaboration with Amazon Bedrock, this functionality enhances the Selartag® database by correcting errors and eliminating duplicate entries. This allows sommeliers to focus on their core responsibilities rather than administrative tasks.
Previously, users had to manually input wine details, which could take three to five minutes per bottle. Now, the AI feature enables users to simply photograph a bottle label, which pre-fills the required form fields in about seven seconds. Updating any information can also be done more efficiently, taking approximately 30 seconds per bottle.
Hervé Lemaire, Founder and Chairman of Selartag®, stated that this technology improves data quality and reliability, providing valuable insights for sommeliers in managing their stock. Sylvain Barthélemy, Chief Operating and Technology Officer at Atos, highlighted the continued collaboration with AWS to implement tailored AI solutions for the wine industry.
Selartag® combines RFID bottle tagging with a digital application for monitoring wine inventory, benefiting various stakeholders in the industry, including winegrowers and restaurateurs.
