Airspan Networks has entered into an agreement to acquire Jabil’s Open RAN radio portfolio and associated Intellectual Property Rights. This strategic acquisition boosts Airspan’s capabilities in developing high power macro radios intended to serve global operators across various spectrum bands. The addition of Jabil’s radio research and development team, along with leasing their New Jersey facilities, enhances Airspan’s engineering capabilities, positioning the company as a significant player among Open RAN vendors.
“Airspan is investing in advanced radio development because we see a dynamic and growing market,” said Glenn Laxdal, CEO of Airspan Networks. “This acquisition strengthens our ability to develop market leading wireless network solutions and reinforces our position as a trusted U.S. supplier.”
Airspan's new macro radio portfolio will be highlighted at Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona, scheduled for March 3-6.
