Aeris has launched IoT Watchtower, a fully integrated security solution for cellular IoT. This product aims to enhance visibility and control against IoT security breaches, addressing rising cyberattacks targeting these devices as noted in recent cybersecurity reports.

Aeris’ solution arrives as IoT devices are increasingly targeted by cyberattackers. According to Deloitte's 2024 Cyber Threat Trends Report, IoT malware attacks have surged by 400%. Forrester has also issued a warning about potential large-scale IoT breaches by 2025.

“Enterprises can no longer afford to treat IoT security as an afterthought,” said Aeris CEO Aziz Benmalek, who emphasizes the need for proactive security measures in light of evolving threats. The Aeris IoT Watchtower offers enterprises the ability to maintain visibility and enforce security policies based on zero-trust principles for their cellular IoT deployments.

The solution consists of two components: IoT Watchtower Awareness, which provides visibility into device behavior and traffic, and IoT Watchtower Enforcement, which allows administrators to implement secure access control policies.

Aeris integrates this solution with its IoT Accelerator platform, enhancing cybersecurity without requiring special hardware changes. It monitors data sessions across 25 mobile operators and leverages AI to identify threats in real time.

Notable customers utilizing Aeris IoT Watchtower include Swisscom Broadcast Service, ABB Motion, and Murata Manufacturing, highlighting its application across various sectors. Users have reported improved operational efficiency and better alignment with compliance requirements due to the solution's capabilities.

Amid increasing threats and tighter regulations, the global market for IoT cybersecurity is expected to grow from $27 billion in 2024 to $60 billion by 2029. This growth reflects a heightened demand for robust security solutions within the expanding IoT landscape.
