Advantech has announced the launch of a new family of validated edge appliances targeted at network security and private 5G deployments. This initiative is supported by Wind River’s eLxr Pro and adopted as a framework by Nybsys, which specializes in optimized, compact solutions across various sectors including manufacturing and retail.

The combined solution will be presented at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona at the Wind River booth, demonstrating its capabilities for edge-to-cloud deployments within industries such as autonomous vehicles, aerospace, and industrial automation. Wind River's eLxr Pro is a Debian-based Linux solution that provides support for edge infrastructure, aiming to meet high-performance demands.

Nybsys has developed the Private 5G Express (P5GE), a compact and power-optimized solution that offers a quick boot time. This system is designed to facilitate rapid cellular deployment, providing immediate connectivity for essential operations.

The P5GE leverages Wind River’s eLxr Pro Linux, ensuring efficient operation while handling workloads including AI applications. Advantech's infrastructure supports these solutions by integrating computing and networking capabilities in compact devices, addressing challenges linked with edge computing.
