A10 Networks has acquired the assets and key personnel of ThreatX Protect, enhancing its cybersecurity solutions with web application and API protection (WAAP). This acquisition aims to address the increasing cyber threats facing enterprises, particularly regarding AI applications, and will also contribute modestly to A10's earnings per share in 2025.

ThreatX Protect offers a WAAP solution utilizing behavioral and risk profiling to guard against evolving cybersecurity risks. As part of the A10 Defend portfolio, it features API protection, bot management, and a next-generation web application firewall (WAF).

Dhrupad Trivedi, A10 Networks' president and CEO, stated, “Expanding the A10 Defend security portfolio with ThreatX Protect gives our customers an additional tool in their strategy to protect against new and evolving threats.” Trivedi emphasized that the focus remains on securing applications and networks against current threats and future AI use cases.

Gene Fay, CEO of ThreatX, expressed confidence in the acquisition, stating, “A10 has been a fantastic partner throughout this process, and we are confident that our customers and employees will thrive under their leadership.” Following the acquisition, ThreatX's remaining assets will be launched as Run Security, with an eBPF-based solution called RS Prevent.

The integration of ThreatX Protect aligns with A10's strategy to support customers in deploying security solutions in hybrid environments, including public cloud, private cloud, co-location facilities, or on-premises. This allows A10 to offer a full-featured WAAP solution integrated with their existing offerings for enhanced security.

Details regarding the transaction were not disclosed, but it is in line with A10's objective to expand its security portfolio in the enterprise market without materially affecting its 2025 financial outlook.
