OpenSAF is an open source project focused on Service Availability (SA) that goes beyond High Availability (HA) requirements. The goal of the OpenSAF project is to develop middleware based on open and industry standard interfaces for applications requiring uninterrupted 24×7 service. OpenSAF is actively supported by leading companies in the communications and enterprise computing industries and is focused on becoming the premier SA solution for commercial products and converged applications for all markets.
The primary purpose of the OpenSAF Foundation is to support and promote OpenSAF projects. Any organization or individual may join the OpenSAF Foundation at one of three membership levels. Membership at the Sponsor or Contributor level includes an obligation to provide resources to actively contribute to the project, whereas Supporter members can benefit from close collaboration with the project without the resource commitment. All OpenSAF Foundation members are encouraged to actively participate in the development of the project.
