Broadband and High-Speed data technology are available in nearly all of the communities served by Great Plains Communications.
Great Plains Communications is the largest Nebraska-owned and independent telecommunications provider company devoted to rural Nebraska. It offers residential services such as digital phone including local and long distance calling, as well as high-definition cable television. Broadband Internet is available in all Great Plains Communications’ communities through DSL and cable modem facilities or its partnership with Exede Satellite Internet Service. The company also provides business services ranging from traditional voice and data products to the installation and support of large business networks.
Great Plains Communications was founded in 1910 by E.C. Hunt and is based in Blair, Nebraska. The company serves 30,000 customers in 90 communities and almost half of the company’s employees live and work in the rural towns where they provide service. It is now in its fourth generation of family ownership.
