GlusterFS is a scalable network filesystem. Using common off-the-shelf hardware, you can create large, distributed storage solutions for media streaming, data analysis, and other data- and bandwidth-intensive tasks. GlusterFS is free and open source software and distributed storage project, openly governed by the Gluster community.
GlusterFS is a clustered file-system capable of scaling to several brontobytes. It aggregates various storage bricks over TCP/IP or Infiniband RDMA into one large parallel network file system. Storage bricks can be made of any commodity hardware such as x86-64 server with SATA drives and Infiniband or GigE interconnect.
