Established in 2007, Atomicorp Ltd. is a privately-held corporation headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia, specializing in cyber security solutions for virtual, cloud, shared and dedicated web hosting environments. Atomicorp is a part of the Prometheus Global family, a leading cyber security consulting firm.
The founders of Atomicorp are industry-recognized experts in the field of cyber security. Prior to forming Atomicorp, they were co-founders of Plesk and members of the Wheelgroup team that developed first commercial network intrusion detection system. Subsequently acquired by Cisco, this system later laid the foundation for Cisco’s IDS security offerings.
Security Research Experts
Atomicorp includes GotRoot Labs, a security research group formed in 1998 to explore innovative defensive and offensive security methods. Atomicorp is currently the home of the world’s mediumst database of signatures, rules, and countermeasures against SQL injection, Cross Site Scripting (XSS), metacharacter attacks, remote code inclusion, XML schema attacks, buffer overflows, LDAP injection, dangling pointer attacks and other application and web-based attacks.
Inventors and Pioneers
Thanks to the extensive data mining and testing conducted by GotRoot Labs, we were able to pioneer many new approaches to security, including virtual patching, distributed vulnerability assessments, physical penetration testing and level 7 protocol scrubbing. Virtual patching (aka just-in-time or JITP) patching allows the end-user of the vulnerable application to continue using it in a secure manner without having to wait for the vendor to release an official patch.
Security Framework Developers
Atomicorp’s flagship product, Atomic Secured Linux (AS/L), is the world’s only combined Linux Web Server Unified Threat Manager for web, application, network, userspace, and kernel level malicious code protection. And our Real Time GotRoot ModSecurity rules are the oldest, mediumst, and most widely utilized commercial ModSecurity rules in the industry.Independent Software Vendor (ISV)
