About the Organizer:
Jim Finnegan is Senior VP Silicon Engineering at Netronome, a company focused on flow processing. He was previously GM of Intel’s Network Processor Division and the Communication Infrastructure Group’s Technology Office. . His career has included senior positions at Basis Communications, Miles-33, Digital Equipment, Tellabs, and Racal Data Group. Jim holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Electronic Engineering from The Queens University, Belfast.
About the Chairpeople:
Roy Chua is a partner in SDNcentral, a leading website for SDN-related material. Mr. Chua previously served as Vice President of Product Marketing and Management at Identity Engines. He also served as Director of Product Marketing at Spirent Communications, where he was responsible for its web and security product lines. He joined Spirent with the acquisition of Caw Networks, where he was responsible for managing the line of Avalanche™ products from concept to reality, picking up 5 prestigious … product awards (including 3 NetWorld+Interop Best of Show) on the way, and taking the product to in excess of a $30M annual run rate in 3 years. He also worked in marketing management and engineering positions at Auspex Systems, Cisco Systems, and iChat/Acuity. Mr. Chua holds an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management and M.S. and B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
Steve Garrison is Vice President of Product Marketing at Pica8. A networking systems veteran with nearly 20 years of technology marketing experience, he leads go-to-market and brand development strategies. Before joining Pica8, Steve held marketing positions at many networking companies, including Infoblox, Force10 Networks (acquired by Dell), and Riverstone Networks (acquired by Alcatel-Lucent). He holds a MS in Materials Science and Engineering from MIT and a BS in Ceramic Science and Physics from Alfred University.
Casey Quillin is Senior Analyst for Storage Area Network and Data Center Appliance Market Research at Dell’Oro Group. He has over 18 years experience as an executive manager and entrepreneur in the technology sector. Before joining Dell’Oro Group in 2011, he was VP Engineering at Snapfish, the world’s largest online photo-sharing site; CTO of Oasys Networks, an application service providers; and Co-Founder and CEO of Logic by Design, an interactive media agency. He holds an MS in Finance from Georgia State University and an MBA from St. Mary’s College.
Alan Weckel is VP of Enterprise and Data Center Market Research at Dell’Oro Group, where he is in charge of Ethernet switch research and new areas such as SDN forecasting and WAN optimization. He has written many articles for the trade and technical press, and is frequently quoted in such leading publications as Bloomberg, Business Week, Forbes, Network World, and the Wall Street Journal. Before joining Dell’Oro Group, he had engineering and software development experience at Raytheon, General Electric Power Systems, and Cisco. He holds a BSEE and an MS in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
