Nuage Networks DemoFriday: Container Networking in Kubernetes with Nuage Networks
In this Demo Friday presentation, Nuage Networks will demonstrate networking for containers in a Kubernetes environment. As containers and microservices architectures rapidly gain in popularity among application developers, container networking and issues of how to achieve scale and maintain agility are rising to the forefront. A number of container networking methodologies have arisen; we will demonstrate the advantages of using Nuage Networks for container networking. In addition, Nuage Networks will show why a software-defined networking (SDN) overlay platform can augment container networking by providing orchestration between container workloads, traditional VMs, and bare metal applications.
In this DemoFriday, you will learn:
- Docker container networking presents different constraints and issues than traditional VM formats and SDN overlay solutions need to adjust to fit customer requirements, new use cases and application architectures.
- Overlay networks may not always be required in pure container environments, but in heterogeneous environments, with legacy applications and workloads, SDN can provide a consistent policy automation model across all workloads and help connect different workload types.
- Customers will need to look to a highly flexible SDN solution, built for heterogeneous environments, to avoid lock-in, and ensure they don’t have to retrofit a solution for future cloud deployments.
