Brocade recently announced the Vyatta Controller, a commercially supported ODL server. The Brocade Vyatta Controller provides an open platform for the scalable management of end-to-end services across a wide range of underlying physical and virtual network infrastructure, such as switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs and load balancers. It provides a simple, low-risk on-ramp to SDN, with a fully tested and commercially supported open source platform that allows users to gradually migrate workloads running on their current equipment into an SDN environment. Some of the early use cases customers can take advantage of are:
- Bandwidth Calendaring
- Context-Aware Policy Enforcement
- Prioritization of Unified Communication Traffic
- Security for Issues Such as DDoS Attacks
- Advanced Network Programmability and Control for Heterogeneous NFV environments
In the SDxCentral Demo, attendees will see firsthand the ease of putting policies into action with Brocade’s OpenDaylight-based Vyatta Controller. Demonstrated first will be Brocade’s Traffic Management App which takes traffic control actions based on measure flows and policies set by the user. The second demonstration will be the Path Explorer Application which will allow the user to “drag and drop” flows using an intuitive GUI for instant control of network traffic.
Join us for DemoFriday on Friday, December 19 at 10:00 a.m. PST to watch Brocade highlight “Brocade SDN applications using Brocade’s Vyatta Controller based on OpenDaylight.”
